Our after school gymnastics club programs include both recreational and competitive artistic gymnastics, which ensures that our students are gaining salutary benefits, both physically and mentally. It introduces students to the sport of gymnastics through games and movement based exercises.

Gymnastics is a core sport which helps to develop student’s overall body management and motor skills. It enables students to carry on these skills into many other sports that they may participate in. It is a great introductory sport for young children between the ages of 4-7 years, as it works on all the basic fundamentals of movement and instills confidence in their ability to interact with other children in both social and physical capacities. The structure of the year is very important to the development of physical skills and social skills.

Term One

Term one is our 'team gym leagues' which allows the students to interact with their class mates in a team based environment. This gives the students a chance to get to know each other in a fun environment. At the end of the 10 week term, the students receive a small prize to reward their accomplishments.

Term Two

Term two sees the students working on Irish gymnastics certificates and badges. This gives the students a goal to work towards, resulting in a great sense of achievement at the end. The best thing about this is that the student doesn’t have to be the most physical or sporty. They are able to progress at their own level and pace. This term really increases the student’s confidence. At the end of this term the students also put together a display of gymnastics that they perform for their parents and friends. As a group the gymnasts perform a 3 min routine to music, demonstrating the use of different gymnastics apparatus. At the show we then present each student with their certificate and badge finishing the term on a big high.

Term Three

Term three is our last term of the year. In term 3 the students learn a competition routine on floor, vault, bar and beam. For the 10 weeks the students practise and perfect their routines so that they are ready to compete in our end of year friendly in-class competition. It is a huge accomplishment for the students to learn, perfect and perform these routines within the 10 week term.
